Due to its favorable geographical location, Azerbaijan has always been in the crossroads of cultures. This in return has always affected its local cuisine. At the same time, Azerbaijan has a diversity of climate zones that provide suitable lands to grow different types of fruits and vegetables in the country. This cuisine is not only rich with delicious food variations, but also with sweets. Therefore, different parts of the country have its different food and dessert styles and tastes. The main intention of this workshop is to deep dive into our culture and cuisine and provide you with an exquisite masterclass. Together with your chef Ali you will prepare three course dinner/lunch at a local apartment and enjoy your delicious preparations with home made “kompot” fruit drink. After, enjoy a few glasses of black Azerbaijani tea with the dessert you have prepared in this masterclass.
Tour departs from your accommodation in Baku (wherever you’re located). Our driver will pick you up and depart to the accommodation where you’ll have your cooking workshop. Please specify your accommodation address during checkout or let us know by email.
Your driver will pick you up from your accommodation and take you to a cozy apartment in the suburban area of Baku. Depending on your preferences, we will have two menu options - either meat or vegetarian dolma as an entrée meal. Then we will start preparing a salad and entrée meal. While entrée meal is cooking, we will start making our local Bakuvian dessert. Your chef Ali will give you detailed instructions, so you will learn peculiar secrets of Azerbaijani cuisine in this hands-on experience.
- During our cooking class at a local apartment, guests will be introduced to a new kind of cuisine
- Guests are offered to choose between three different kinds of menus, including a vegetarian option. Vegan option is available upon request. The menus include appetizer, entree meal and a local homemade soft drink
- After the main course we will sit for tea table with sweet delights and “quymag” (Bakuvian dessert)
- Participating on this tour, you will have opportunity to acquaint yourself with secrets of local cuisine and culture from first-hand with our chef Ali
