If you are reading this article, it means you are planning to visit Baku! Woohoo! Or rather, “Xoş gəldiz!”

The distance between Baku Heydar Aliyev Airport (GYD) and Baku city center is approximately 25 km. When you travel to Baku, you will have three options to get to city center from airport: by bus, taxi or private transfer service.

Official Airport Express Bus

The cheapest way to get from Baku International Airport to city center (28 May Metro station/Central Railway Station) is by Airport Express bus. It’s an official express bus and the tickets cost less than 1 euro. To be more precise, the fare ranges from 1.30 to 1.7 AZN (manats), depending on the route. It will take about 45-50 minutes to reach to the city center and sometimes there can be delays depending on traffic conditions. To make things even easier, you can download the application “BakıKart”, available both for androids and iOS. The buses are available 24/7 and run every 30 minutes or 1 hour. Taxi/cab service

For more convenience, you may want to take a taxi from Baku airport to city center. There are several applications that you could use in Baku: Bolt, Uber, Yango, etc.

On these applications the cost of the ride will typically range between 7-25 AZN according to the time of the day, traveling distance and the type of vehicle: VIP, comfort or eco.

Some tips for stress-free ride:

Always check the car number; the car number on the application should be the same as the car that arrived to get you. If it is not the same, then cancel your ride and order a new one. Always pay the amount shown in the app and nothing more (of course, you are free to tip if you like!). If the taxi driver insists you to pay another sum, then we advise you to ignore such demand, and show them the amount shown in the app. If they keep insisting, you can remind the driver that you will call the police and complain about it in the application if they don’t stop this rude and inacceptable behavior. Many tourists have recently complained about this issue, when drivers asked for more than they had to pay. Therefore, be cautious.

Private Transfer

Perhaps the most convenient and stress-free option. You can book a private transportation in advance through different platforms, including ours. Our private transfer provides the convenience of a dedicated vehicle waiting for you upon arrival, ensuring a hassle-free journey to your destination in Baku city center. The service includes personalized pick-up and drop-off options, professional drivers and refreshments. Whichever mode you choose for traveling, always be cautious about your surroundings, make sure you don’t forget your belongings and of course, check our tours to enjoy Baku conveniently and with a zest of an unforgettable experience!
